Amazing Dad

Hey guys!! Just a quick post and a quick card today! I have been wanting to use this cut for a while but just got the chance last night.

If you look close in this pic you can see my Pink By Design Cloudy Day stamp - I love it!! I know this stamp is going to be well used!

  • barnyard scene is cut from Country Life @ 3.5"
    • I inked the silo (and roof) with Tim Holtz distress ink
    • barn is embossed with distressed stripes Cuttlebug folder
  • background is cream and stamped with Pink By Design Coudy Day background stamp.
  • sentiment 'Dad you are amazing' is from the Our Fathers set by Pink By Design
  • stitching around the outside with my white pen
  • 3 brown Recollections brads
Have a great day! Not too sure when I'll be back again with a project but hopefully it won't be too long!! I still have a couple sets of Peachy Keen stamps that I received the other day that I haven't gotten to dive into yet!!

Hi Crafters!! Another layout!! Woohoo! I know I said I was going to work on Father's Day cards next but I have had this idea in my mind for a little while and I got my order of Peachy Keen stamps (my mother's day gift) in the mail on Friday and with it was my Happy Lashes set!! SOOO cute, I couldn't wait to use them.

I love the little bees from Create A Critter!! Especially when they have a bow in their "hair"!! But then again, everything looks more cute with a bow in its hair! :)

- little bees are cut @ 2.5" from Create A Critter. Their faces are stamped with the Happy Lashes face set from Peachy Keen & instead of messing around with the tiny little layer for their stingers, I just used silver Liquid Pearl.  Then I added some pink chalk on their cheeks, a pink bow, and a little stitching with my black ZIG pen. I used my white Gelly roll pen to add "stitching" behind the bees to make it look like they were flying. I wanted to try my new SewEasy for this but just didn't have the time....
- 'Bee-uty' title is cut using Ashlyn's Alphabet and I welded the letter together on my Gypsy and added some stitching with my white Gelly roll and some pink Martha Stewart glitter on the heart
- Beehive was also cut from Create A Critter @ 4.5". I embossed it with my polka dot Cuttlebug folder, added some stickles on some of the embossed dots and "stitched" around the outside with my black ZIG pen
- the background paper is just plain black Recollections paper and I added some tiny little hearts with my white gelly roll pen to give it a little more detail

This weeks Let's Face it Friday Challenge at Peachy Keen is Designer's Choice!! We were supposed to use our favorite set of PK faces but since I just received my Happy Lashes set in the mail I really wanted to use those... They will probably be my NEW favorite set!! My old favorite set was the Wide Eyed Kids set, but of course, I love them all!! :)

Have a great day!!

Pool Party!! (In February!)

Hey Guys!! Happy Saturday! Last night I got another layout completed!! Only about 200 more to go (and if time stands still and I don't take anymore pics of the girls) and I'll have Bria & Brittyn's scrabooks caught up!! :) I'll probably try to get a few Father's Day cards next so the layouts may actually be put on the back burner once again...

Here's the layout I came up with last night. I had two challenges in mind when I worked on this: Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday (Life's A Beach) and More Than Favor's Wacky Wednesday (Pink, teal, cream & brown).

These pics were taken on a COLD February day... (I think it was about -26 degrees C outside). I actually think one of my first posts ever talked about this day... Check it out HERE!! If you don't feel like checking out the link, long story short: our sun room was empty - and hot from all the windows without blinds yet - so we set the kiddie pool up in there. The kids had a blast!!

Isn't Elmo cute?! This was the first time I used this cart, one word - INTRICATE! I've heard that about a lot of the Disney carts too but have yet to use one.

Here are some details....
- Elmo is cut from Sesame Street Seasons @ 3.5" - I don't think I would ever cut a character any smaller than this - there were some tiny little pieces...
- sand pail is cut @ 1.5" also from Sesame Street Seasons
- base paper is  a Me & My Big Ideas "flowery" stack - it has no name on it...
- red strip of background paper is stamped with a swirly stamp that I have had forever and not even sure of the brand, I got in a clearance bin somewhere... I used white Martha Stewart ink and it looked awesome on the red paper
- pink background strip was embossed with my Tiny Bubbles cuttlebug folder and inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressed Ink, I also used my EK Success border punch around the edge
- brown strip was punched down both sides with Martha Stewart border punch
- Title was cut from 2 carts - 'pool' was cut from Kate's ABC's and 'Party' was cut from Life's A Beach
- ribbon and button from my stash
- pearls are Recollection from Michaels
- twine from The Twinery
- and of course my beloved white gelly roll pen for finishing touches

I received a BIG stash of goodies in the mail yesterday and I'm hoping I get lucky and my kids nap at the same time today so I can tear into them!! :) If all goes well, I'll be back tomorrow with another project!!

Mud Monster!!!

Hey Everyone!! Well, I have a little confession to make... One of my "2 Little Princesses", is not such a Princess... As hard as I try to keep her hair done and her cute little outfits clean, she usually ends up looking like she just got finished rolling around in a pig pen!! So you may have "heard" me mention once or twice before that my husband and I just built a new house on an acerage this past year. This is our first summer on the acerage and because there is still so much black dirt to be moved around we have no grass.... Now if you combine my "Princess" with our yard, which consists of a lot of dirt (and sometimes mud), this is what you get.....

I loved these pics and couldn't wait to scrap them. I know they are not your typical cute pics of a little girl in a frilly dress with barrettes in her hair, but this is Bria! At least she still loves nailpolish! :)

As soon as I took these pics I had an idea... I've been waiting to use my Matha Stewart "dripping" punch (I don't know what it's really called...) and I thought if I combined it with some glossy accents I could make the perfect muddy layout:

I don't usually make a layout before I have the pics developed and in my hands, but I wanted to run with the ideas I had for this layout so I tried this method. It definitely has its pros and cons... I take a LOT of pics and when I developing my pics I never know which ones I want to scrap.. I pretty much print them ALL so I can figure it out later. Doing it this way makes me realize I would print a lot less pics (that end up in a box anyway...). On the down side, I find it harder to lay out the pics without having them in my hands... That being said, I think I'll keep trying to scrap before I develop the pics, I'm sure I'll get better at it the more practice I get.

Here are a couple more closeups of the layout...

- Background polka dot paper is from the DCWV Playtime Stack which is awesome!!
- 'muddy monster' is from Mini Monsters. I cut the top layer of the monster twice - once in blue and once in brown, and then trimmed the brown layer to make it look like a bit on mud on the monster's bottom (??? LOL), I also added some glossy accents to make it look like real mud! I also used googly eyes from the dollarstore and OH I just realized I forgot his mouth!! Oh well, he doesn't NEED a mouth, does he?!
- to make the 'MUD Monster' title I used Cuttin' Up for "M-U-D". Usin my gypsy, I put a rectangle around each letter so that I could pull the rectangle off and the shape of each letter would be inside the brown square. Then I used my Martha Stewart border punch and punched along the bottom of the rectangle and added some glossy accents. "Monster" is cut from the Gypsy Font and welded together using my gypsy
- Twine from The Twinery, buttons from my stash and some stitching with my white gelly roll pen!

TA-DA!!! (This is Bria's fav. saying right now, so cute!)

I'm also entering this into the Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time - Use Green (the green is in the background paper!!) and Yellow

Hopefully I'll be back soon!!!

You Rock!!

Hi paper lovers!! Have you ever heard of E.A.D Designs?? I am falling in love with their products... I have yet to own anything from their store (many of their stickers are on my growing wish list!) but I "window shop" on their website often. They have color challenges and anyone who plays gets 25% off any purchase from their store!! How awesome is that?!? I always want to create something so I can take part in their challenges but I've only been able to find the time to enter into two challenges. I'm showing you one of those projects today!

I love how this card turned out.... When I saw the colors for this challenge I couldn't wait to find the time to sit down and come up with a project. I had just bought the Complete Boy from My Mind's Eye stack from Michaels and there were tons of papers that fit awesome into the colors in this challenge. I've also been eyeing up this cute fox from Birthday Bash and he also fits right in with the choosen colors.

Here are the details...
- card is A2 sized, like almost all my cards
- fox is cut from Birthday Bash at 4", his cute little face is from the Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Peachy Keen set (totally MAKES this fox!! thats why I love PK...) and I inked him with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo ink
- the 'you rock!' stamp is from Pink By Design Enjoy the Journey set (love, love, love this set)
- cream layer is inked with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo ink and embossed with Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder
- twine is from The Twinery
- button is from my stash
- doodles with white gelly roll pen

For the layout of this card I used the Sketch Challenge at Peachy Keen for inspiration. They are having an awesome giveaway with challenge - check it out! Unfortuntely it's only available to US residents because of shipping. :( I still liked the sketch so I thought I would play along anyway!

Have a great day!!

Find Joy Everyday

Happy Sunday! Today's project is one that I have been trying to find time to do for a while now. Before Easter, Wal-Mart had these little mailboxes for $3. My 2 1/2 year old, Bria, LOVES opening mail and when I showed her these little mailboxes she was so excited!

I asked her how she would like me to decorate it for her and she told me she wanted a baby deer (why a baby deer I have no idea...) and I went with it! It was the perfect opportunity for me to try out my new cloud stamp I purchased from Pink By Design a little while ago. I did't have a LOT of time to dedicate to the mailbox but I wanted to come up with something cute Bria would like... I also saw the latest Let's Face it Friday Challenge on the Peachy Keen blog and thought this was the perfect opportunity to take on this project.

I thought this sentiment suited this project perfectly. Bria is such a happy little girl and it's so important to me that as she grows up she continues to find joy in every day. My plan is to use this mailbox to give Bria little notes and treats when she is being a good girl. Something for her to get excited about each day! :)

So here are my details...
- mailbox was $3 at wal-mart
- I used my Pink By Design Cloudy Day background stamp to make the cloud background paper. When I bought this stamp I planned on using it for the backgrounds on A2 sized cards but I found out it is actually super easy to match up to make large backgrounds with! I am a total rookie stamper and this background turned out great! None of my pics show but the cloud background wraps all the way around the mailbox. I used a Ditto ink pad I picked up for a really good sale price at Michaels. It made an AWESOME look combined with the cloud stamp.
-  the deer was cut @ 2.5" from Create A Critter, I used the Peachy Keen Character Face Parts for the little face on the deer.
- the flower stems are also cut (not sure which size and I deleted it from my gypsy...) from Create A Critter but I cut off the flower shapes and added my own flowers from my stash
- butterfly is cut at 1" from Create A Critter
- I made the grass by using the grass from Paper Doll Dressup, copied it and then mirrored it. I used a rectangle shape from Gypsy Wanderings and customized the dimensions (5.5"x6"), then welded the grass to the rectangle. I cut another piece like this but made it 1/2" longer so that when I taped the grass down it would overlap the other layer of grass. I inked the grass using Vintage Photo ink by Tim Holtz
- the frame around the sentiment on the lid of the mailbox was cut from Storybook at 1.5", the bottom layer was stamped with the same Pink By Design cloud background stamp. Sentiment 'Find Joy Everyday' is from Pink By Design Enjoy the Journey set (I LOVE this set!!)
- ribbon around edges is from the Dollarstore and was glued using a hot glue gun
- Doodles with my white Gelly Roll pen for finishing touches!

I am also entering this project into the Challenge Me Monday Challenge at Fantabulous Cricut.
I hope you like it! I would have loved to spend more time and really make it detailed but it IS going directly into the hands of a destructive little 2.5 year old, so I didn't want to go too overboard! :) Hope everyone's having an awesome weekend!!

So I had one rough day yesterday (you know, one of THOSE days mom's...). But the good news is that I am having a GREAT day today!! Here are ALL my reasons.... I got my new Scrappy Moms Stamps (I will brag those up later in my post!), I had a couple hours at the spa with my mom, grandma, aunt and cousin (who is one of my best friends), AND I got the disc of proofs from the photoshoot I took Brittyn to the other day!! This could be one looong post so get comfortable! :)

Look at these adorable shots!! I'm going to have troubles deciding which ones I want to order prints of.... (skip this part if you're not into the personal stuff....)

The photographer never got any of her with her great big smile but I think they're pretty cute none the less.

And here is my project!!

These are pics of Bria when she was about 22 months old. I just got her ears pierced that day and it looked so cute!!

Check out my new Scrappy Moms Stamps!!! I love them!

This is my first set of Scrappy Moms Stamps and I am so happy with them! They come in a BIG sheet and the stamps are the perfect size! A lot of the sentiment stamps I have bought I find are a little too small but these are awesome! I love being able to incorporate them into a layout.

- Diamond (cut @ 2.7") was from Once Upon A Princess, covered in Martha Stewart glitter and Glossy Accents. I love covering glitter with Glossy Accents so the glitter doesn't fall off and end up everywhere...
- 'You sparkle' sentiment was from Scrappy Moms Happily Ever After set
- 'Shimmer' title is cut at 2.5" from Once Upon A Princess
- Twine is from The Twinery
- buttons, ribbon and jewels are from my stash
- striped pink paper is cut @ 9"x9" and is from the DCWV Baby Girl stack
- pink background layer is a full letter sized sheet
- stitching with my white Gelly Roll pen

With my layouts I always have to try to find a balance between quick and still super cute. Sometimes it's hard because I would love to add a whole bunch to the layouts but I know I just don't have the time... I'm working hard on catching up the girls' scrapbooks since I know summer will bring a lot more pictures to scrap... Wish me luck! :)

Baby Girl Card/Bag Set

Hello!! A little while ago I made a card and bag set for a baby boy (HERE). I loved it and decided I needed a more modern baby girl set as well. I used pretty much the same design but changed up the colors. Check it out!!

I love to make baby projects using less traditional colors. I just bought the DCWV Baby Girl stack from Michaels and it has a lot of pink/green/orange combinations. I had never really thought of those colors for a baby girl before but I like it, so I ran with it! :)

'From Small Beginnings come great things'

Here are some details...
- crib is cut from Baby Steps @ 3"
- sentiment is from Pink By Design Baby Love set
- green square is 2"x2.5" and is embossed with my Paisley Cuttlebug folder
- patterned square is 4"x2.5"
- bling and ribbin is from Michaels
- stitching with white Gelly Roll pen

I'm entering this project into a couple of my favortite challenges...
- Cricut Cardz Challenge - Baby Card

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Have A Moo-Velous Day!!

Hello!! Hope everyone is having a great day!! I had an awesome day yesterday but I'm still so tired today... Whenever we have a big outting with the kids it seriously takes me like two days to recover! I don't know how you mom's of four and five kids do it!! Yesterday we drove 2 hours and took the kids swimming and shopping. I got to hit Michales (always a highlight! :)) and also get the girls some new outfits for family pics that were supposed to be on Sunday morning. Unfortunately the photographer had a death in the family last night so our pictures are postponed. :( I've been looking forward to them for months so I can't wait to reschedule! Anyways.... Here is a little sneak peek of our fun day!

Bria's just like a little fishie!!

Peek - a - boo!!

One of the things I am enjoying the most about being a parent is seeing the world through the eyes of my kids. I am LOVING little things like swimming, playing in the snow or sand, baking... Bria is such a little sponge right now and my husband and I are truly enjoying teaching her all about the world.

The kids zonked out super early last night due to all the swimming and interupted nap time yesterday so I just HAD to take advantage and spend some time in my craft room (as tired as I was....). Here is my project from last night:

Isn't she a cute little cow?? Then again, aren't all the Create A Critter animals cute??

The inside of the card...

For such a straight forward card I sure struggled with it last night... Isn't it funny how sometimes you can whip together a complex amazing project in no time and then other times just making a simple card is such a painful process??

Here are some details...
- Cow is cut @ 2.5" from Create A Critter
- EK Success Border Punch, ribbon and flower from my stash
- Sentiment on the inside of the card is from Punnylicious by My Pink Stamper

Back tomorrow with another project!!!

Sweet Birthday Wishes!!

Hello!!! Yesterday was such a great day!! It was BEAUTIFUL here! I had the girls outside all afternoon and I forgot how awesome it is to be able to get out of the house for a few hours at a time. And do you know what the best part of yesterday was?? I checked out Scrap-Making before I went to bed (a blog I usually stalk daily!) and I found out I won a STAMP SET!!!! I was soooooo excited! I never win anything! I think even my husband was excited for me! :) This is the set I won...

If you haven't yet, check out Joanna's blog Scrap-Making! Her cards are bright, fun, and adorable!!!

I have been admiring Scrappy Mom's stamps for so long! I enter a lot of their contests trying to win some of their stamps. Speaking of Scrappy Mom's... when I found out I won these stamps I almost had to laugh since before I checked Joanna's blog (Scrap-Making) I JUST completed a card that I was going to enter into the Terrific Tuesday Challenge @ Scrappy Mom's!!

I was inspired by... myself! LOL I did a layout the other day (HERE) for one of Brittyn's newborn pics and I just loved how it turned out. I think these little cupcakes are adorable.... So I thought I would also make a card! And probably a matching bag later on tonight!!

Here are some details...
- cupcakes were cut @ 2.3 from Once Upon A Princess, sprinkles on cupcakes were made with Liquid Pearls (I think I accidentally called them something else last time....)
- faces were stamped using Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids set
- Martha Stewart lacey border punch
- twine from The Twinery
- sentiment from Pink By Design
- button from stash
- doodles with black ZIG pen and white Gelly roll pen

I hope you think it's as cute as I do!! :) I can't wait until I get my new stamps!! Thanks so much Joanna!! So exciting!!

Love, Honor, Cherish

Second post of the day!! Can you believe this? I also made a batch of baby food in the midst!! I may as well slap a big red 'S' on my chest for the day! :) Only kidding... I just feel like I'm getting a lot accomplished today, unlike a lot of days around here!

So here is my project for the My Pink Stamper Challenge # 5....

I have a shower/stagette for a friend of mine this weekend and was inspired by the big rock on her left hand! :) I like how this card turned out, but there is something missing.... When I figure out what that something is I may add it. Sometimes I try to go for simple and elegant on a card. I didn't want anything to outshine this ring.

Here are some details...
- ring is cut from the Sweethearts cartridge, I added sparkles on the diamond part and then used glossy accents over top. (If I had my favorite camera lens, I could show you this a whole lot clearer....) I also used Tattered Angels Gilmmermist in Pearl on the grey part of the ring to give it a little shimmer
- black frame accent was cut from Gypsy Wanderings and misted with the same Glimmermist
- blue background was embossed with a spotted Cuttlebug folder
- sentiment is from the Here Comes the Bride set by Pink By Design
- popped up black frame and ring with foam stickers from the dollarstore
- of COURSE, no project of mine would be complete without some doodles with my white Gelly Roll pen!!

You might be able to see the glimmermist on the black frame and the glitter on the diamond better in this pic...
Let's see if I can set a record for myself and squeeze one more project in now that my kids are asleep....

My Pink Stamper Challenges

Hi out there!! Quick post today! My husband gave me some 'me' time this morning before he leaves for the day so I got done my layout from yesterday and one more!! I am making them for all the challenges on My Pink Stamper for National Scrapbooking Day. She had such an awesome, fun day over there! I only wished I had more time so that I could enter all the challenges - there are some AWESOME prizes!!

Here's my first Layout... (sorry for the low quality pics... still waiting on my camera lens)

I'm trying to catch up on Brittyn's scrapbook! When I was doing Bria's scrapbook everyone told me I would be in trouble because I wouldn't have enough time to do such a detailed book with my second baby. I'm out to prove them wrong! :)

My favorite thing to stamp faces on is cupcakes!!! :)

Details (quickly!!)...
- 'Baby Cakes' title and 3 little cupcakes are cut from Once Upon A Princess - faces on cupcakes are from the Peachy Keen set Wide Eyed Kids, sprinkles on cupcakes are made with Pearl Dots, cupcake in title is embossed w/ Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder, sprinkles are Pearl Dots and candle is accented with Glossy Accents (my new favorite thing to use!!!)
- snetiment ('A moment in my tummy, a lifetime in my heart') is from Pink By Design
- purple twine from The Twinery, button & ribbon from my stash
- doodles with white Gelly Roll pen

This layout is going to be entered into Challenge #1 - Anything Cupcake

These pics are from the same photo shoot as the one in the LO above. Brittyn was not even a week old in these pics. So cute, right?? I can't believe she was ever that little.... *tear, tear*

- Kangaroo/baby, lots of love title and birdie banner are cut from Birthday Bash
- 'Welcome Baby' and 'When I count my blessings I count you twice' from My Pink Stamper
- doodles with black ZIG pen and white Gelly Roll Pen

This layout is going to be entered into Challenge #7 - Make A Scrapbook Page.

I am in the middle of another project that I'm hoping to finish during the kids' naptime... I may even get one more in before the deadline!! This would be a record for me lately!!! And I'm sick with two sick babies to boot! It's a good thing they are so happy just laying around today!!
