Hey Guys!! Happy Saturday! Last night I got another layout completed!! Only about 200 more to go (and if time stands still and I don't take anymore pics of the girls) and I'll have Bria & Brittyn's scrabooks caught up!! :) I'll probably try to get a few Father's Day cards next so the layouts may actually be put on the back burner once again...
Here's the layout I came up with last night. I had two challenges in mind when I worked on this: Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday (Life's A Beach) and More Than Favor's Wacky Wednesday (Pink, teal, cream & brown).
These pics were taken on a COLD February day... (I think it was about -26 degrees C outside). I actually think one of my first posts ever talked about this day... Check it out HERE!! If you don't feel like checking out the link, long story short: our sun room was empty - and hot from all the windows without blinds yet - so we set the kiddie pool up in there. The kids had a blast!!
Isn't Elmo cute?! This was the first time I used this cart, one word - INTRICATE! I've heard that about a lot of the Disney carts too but have yet to use one.
Here are some details....
- Elmo is cut from Sesame Street Seasons @ 3.5" - I don't think I would ever cut a character any smaller than this - there were some tiny little pieces...
- sand pail is cut @ 1.5" also from Sesame Street Seasons
- base paper is a Me & My Big Ideas "flowery" stack - it has no name on it...
- red strip of background paper is stamped with a swirly stamp that I have had forever and not even sure of the brand, I got in a clearance bin somewhere... I used white Martha Stewart ink and it looked awesome on the red paper
- pink background strip was embossed with my Tiny Bubbles cuttlebug folder and inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressed Ink, I also used my EK Success border punch around the edge
- brown strip was punched down both sides with Martha Stewart border punch
- Title was cut from 2 carts - 'pool' was cut from Kate's ABC's and 'Party' was cut from Life's A Beach
- ribbon and button from my stash
- pearls are Recollection from Michaels
- twine from The Twinery
- and of course my beloved white gelly roll pen for finishing touches
I received a BIG stash of goodies in the mail yesterday and I'm hoping I get lucky and my kids nap at the same time today so I can tear into them!! :) If all goes well, I'll be back tomorrow with another project!!
