Hello Kitty Wall Hanging

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did!! :) For Christmas my Dad and my daughters got me a certificate to a camera course that took place this Saturday! It was great, I am now using all the manual settings on my camera (it's about time really, I've had the camera for 2 years...). Anyways... The project I'm sharing today is a wall hanging for Bria's room. We just moved into a new house a month ago and I have been LOVING decorating two girly little rooms. Here's what I created...

I am entering this into Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time ( HERE). I love her stamps and hope to purchase a set (or two;)) sometime in the near future!

And here is some other pics of Bria's room so you can really get a feel of how the picture will look in her room...

Bria is, and has been since she was a little baby, the spark of the family. She's so active, bright and full of life so I think her room really suits her. I'm not quite done in there, I have a few things I have yet to put up on her walls. Someday! OH! And I'll bet at least one person who looks at these pics is going to wonder where the little 2 year old's toys are??? They're downstairs in her toy room... which is not quite so tidy. :) I have a couple more picture ideas in mind for Brittyn's (my other daughter) room and once I get those done I'll show you her room too! :) (It's soooo cute...)

So here are the details on the Hello Kitty wall hanging....

- Hello Kitty Greetings cart for Hello Kitty
- snail, butterfly, clouds and sun from Create A Critter
- flowers from Sweet Treats (I'm not too sure where I got the stem from... I think it may have been Create A Critter?)
- grass from Paper Doll Dressup
- Peachy Keen Everday Character Face Assortment for snail and sun faces
- Tim Holtz distressed ink to give the grass some dimension
- white Gelly Roll pen for doodles
- Tattered Angels Glimmermist on clouds and sun
- blig from dollar store for flower centers

I was also wondering.... Do you guys like to know the sizes of the cuts? I never pay much attention when I look at other peoples' projects but please let me know if the sizes interest you and I can add them on here from now on. Thanks!!

Welcome Baby

Hello Everyone! When I saw the latest Scrappy Mom's Challenge (HERE) was to use Create A Critter cartridge I was pretty excited! This is definitely my favorite cart. It's sooo versatile! I've had a few friends who have had little boys within the last month so I decided to make a Baby Boy card.

Here's the details...
- Standard A2 sized card
- Lion was cut @ 2" from Create A Critter
- Raffia wrapped around plaid layer
- 'Welcome Baby' stamp is from My Pink Stamper - Everyday Life set
- 3 little brads (not sure where these came from... they're really old)
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink
- 3-D foam stickers from Dollar Store to pop-up lion

I hope you like! I can't wait to give it to my friend! :)

Turning Two

Hello! I have been so busy these last few days leaving little time to craft... Hopefully tonight is the night! I thought I would post the layout that I put together for Bria's second birthday party. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped considering the time I put into it... For some reason I just had trouble making everything come together in this LO.

I used the Once Upon a Princess Cricut cartridge for all the cuts. I used my Martha Stewart glitter pen to add the purple glitter dot accents all over and also some gems from the dollar store to add some sparkle. On the second page of the layout, under the picture of Bria holding her new little sis, Brittyn, I made a little "card" that opens up. Inside of the card I wrote her a little note and added some of the details of her birthday party (who was there, what her favorite gifts were, etc.).

That's all for today, I'm so pooped I think I may curl up on the couch with my little ones and a movie. :)

Pool Party in the dead of winter!!

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great long weekend! I know my little family did! My husband didn't have to work this weekend and we didn't have anything going on so we just hung out around the house. It was perfect! The only downfall was the weather outside... it was too cold to take the kids out so we decided to have a POOL PARTY in our house! We don't have a hot tub in our sun room yet (we just built a new house) and we didn't feel like packing the kids up to go to a pool so we just filled up a kiddie pool in our sun room! The girls (and I) loved it! :)

The project I am sharing today was a very quick layout. I take a LOT of pics of my girls and I feel this need to scrapbook almost all of them! I'm starting to get a little behind so I need to ease up on the details on a few layouts.

Last summer, before we had our baby, we wanted to take Bria on a little holiday to spend some nice quality time with her before she wasn't an only child anymore. One place we took her was to an amusement park for kids. Bria is a little dare devil, like her dad, so he was pumped to take her on rides. They are truly two of a kind...

The tags in the background are from Gypsy Wanderings and the little train is from Create a Critter. I used a journaling stamp that I bought a long time ago from Michaels and made a little tag popped up on foam stickers to write a note on. I use the Plantin Schoolbook cart and welded my letters together with my gypsy for the title. Phew... I'm long-winded!! :)

Thanks Snow Much!

The card I'm posting today was made for an Aunt and Uncle of mine who are always doing things for our family and they love to send little gifts for our girls. They are living in Texas for the winter and won't be seeing any snow (so jealous!) - so I thought I would send them some! :)

The card base was cut from Birthday Bash and the snowman was from Hello Kitty Greetings. I embossed the bergundy paper using my Sizzix Boutique. The sentiment was from the My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies set. For some reason the sentiment didn't show up that well, I think I need to look into getting a better ink pad... I can't really say I'm overly happy with this card... I think the snowman should have been bigger, and the bow smaller. Oh well... live and learn! :)

Dreaming of Summer!

It has been soo cold here the last few days, and by cold I mean -36 degrees celsius (-33 degrees Fahrenheit). COLD. So I figured I would focus on a layout or two from last summer.

This is my daughter, Bria, enjoying a pool day in the backyard last summer. I made it for the Peachy Keen Challenge #45, based on a given sketch. (See challenge HERE) I used Paper Doll Dressup for the little "Bria" doll and stamped her face with a little Peachy Keen face stamp (from Everyday Character Face Assortment pack). I used Tim Holtz ink to ink around the edges of her hair to give it some dimension. This is the first time I've tried this technique with ribbon and it turned out ok... I wanted it to kind of match the cute little ruffles on Bria's bikini.  I popped up the title (which was from Life's A Beach) as well as the doll with 3-D foam stickers from a dollar store. I also used my Martha Stewart glitter glue (I LOVE glitter...) to add some little dots around the 1/2 circle background. Here's to hoping I win a $25 gift certificate to Peachy Keen Stamps in the challenge! :)

My First Project Post!

This is a card I made for my daughters to give to their Grandparents for Valentine's Day. The two little owls represent my two girls, Bria and Brittyn. I used owls from Create A Critter (my favorite cart!), face stamps from Peachy Keen, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper. I added some doodling with my white Gelly Roll pen and some bling from the dollar store (I think... I got it a long time ago...). Isn't it cute? :)

Hello Blogging World!!! :)

Hello Everyone! (I guess Hello Noone really, since I have ZERO followers so far!) It seems a little strange to be making my first post with no followers but I guess I've got to start somewhere!! :)

First off I'll explain a little about why I decided to start a blog. I LOVE to scrapbook and make cards (as of recently) but I don't really know many people who are as crazy about it as I am. I've been finding I put a lot of effort and time into scrapbooks and cards for people who don't seem to appreciate the workmanship that goes into them. Just before Christmas this year (so December of 2010) I discovered My Pink Stamper and Lauren's Creative videos on YouTube and that opened a big can of blogging worms.... I was sooo excited to find other people who inspired me so much and who shared the same appreciation for paper crafting. I decided to start a blog to connect with more people who love paper as much as I do! :) I am super excited to start posting some projects and although I consider myself a Cricut Rookie I hope I can be a source of inspiration for someone out there!
