Pink By Design - Coloring An Image

So glad you stopped by today! :) It's tip/technique day over at Pink By Design! The technique I played with was using Distress Inks to color an image!

Since I am waiting for StazOn re-inker to come in the mail and my ink pad is dry, I used a versamark ink pad with some black embossing powder for my image. It's important to use an ink that will not smear when combined with water.... Next, I stamped my Distress Ink pad on an acrylic block. I used a water paintbrush to pick up the ink off the acrylic block then colored my image. Distress Inks blend perfectly when combined with water, making it easy to get a shaded look.

For this project I also used some twine from The Twinery, paper from Recollections, a Peachy Keen stamp, scalloped circle Spellbinder die, EK success border punch and a sentiment from the Christmas Wishes stamp set.

I am celebrating Christmas by having a giveaway!!! For a chance to win a set of Pink By Design stamps (and some other goodies!!) check out THIS post!!

Make sure to head over to the Pink By Design blog to check out the other techniques from the rest of my team!! And don't forget to link up your christmas project using non-traditional colors below!!! You could win a $10 gift certificate to the Pink By Design store!!
