Number Learning Game

Have I ever told you before that I love posting on Saturdays?? Since I'm a stay at home mom and my husband has no work schedule at all, every day is pretty much the same!! I get bored over the weekends when a lot of my favorite bloggers don't post... I figure I can't be the only one excited to see people posting over the weekends!!

My project today is inspired by one of the release challenges over at Peachy Keen. The challenge was to include three of something, and use PK stamps, of course. This got me thinking about a little number game for Bria that I've had in my mind for a little while. I always try to find new, fun ways to teach her letters and numbers. With her help, we choose some graphics that she loved and went to work! 

We used the Sea Animals for Girls set from MyGrafico... 

I took out the original faces on the graphics so that I could add my own PK faces - which are soo much more cute! :) I used a variety of face assortment sets - Princess Faces, Happy Lashes and Winter Wonderland. Some of the animals only needed one eye since they are looking to the side... For these ones, I inked up my stamp then used a baby wipe to wipe off the ink (then dry the stamp) from everywhere on the stamp except the one eye. Then I stamped the eye onto my creatures. If you look close at the seahorses, I actually only wiped the ink off the mouth and nose on the stamp - the two eyes were the perfect distance apart to stamp both seahorse's eyes at the same time! I made 20 cards - 10 with creatures on them, and 10 with corresponding numbers. 

I made the cards in Silhouette software and then printed them out, followed by cutting them with my cameo. I made 20 cards - all the same - with the background paper that came with the graphics set, to make the back sides of the cards. Once I had all these printed and cut, I used ATG tape to adhere a background card to a picture/number card.

I'm planning on taking these to Staples to have them laminated so that they don't get wrecked the first time she uses them!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Guest Designer Projects!!

Hi, hi, hi!! :) Can you tell I am so super excited about this post?? Today I am the guest designer over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons!! My Pink By Design "sister" has started her own store with SVGs, graphics and digital paper. Not only has she started this little venture, she also designs stamps for Pink By Design on a regular basis! She is soooo talented and I am honored to be a guest designer for her today! 

My projects today are featuring the Ladybug Cutting Files and Love Bug Digital Papers. The paper packs I choose to work with are the Love Bug Horizontal Stripes and Love Bug Black Polka Dots. 

My first project is a card... 

I had so much fun cutting this little critter out and my girls LOVED her. To add some detail I used some glossy accents on her eyes and shoes, Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges, some red Martha Stewart glitter and a white gelly roll pen. I used the Everyday Banners stamp set combined with a sentiment from Simply Everything set, both from Pink By Design. 

I used some pop dots to make sure my little "lady" stood out. 

My second project was, of course, a layout!! 

I am soo in love with using digital papers... I am such a matchy match type of person and using digital paper works PERFECTLY for me. Plus, you can never run out of a certain pattern like you do with regular paper! 

I cut the letters using my Cameo and added a few little details to the white letters with a ZIG pen. 

I had to add a little lady bug to my layout as well... I actually cut three out since Bria, my 4 year old, loves to craft along with me. She made her very own card too. If you look close you can see I added some black glitter glue to some of the black dots on the background paper. I love the extra texture! 

As soon as I started working on this layout I knew I wanted to makes some rosettes with the striped paper. Love how they turned out!! I added some sparkly embellishments into the centers of the rosettes for some more glimmer.

Graduation Congrats!

Hi Guys! I'm here today with a card to show you that I made for the newest challenge over at My Creative Time. The theme of the challenge was to reuse something and I have been wanting to make a project with an old children's book I picked up a while ago. I also needed to make a grad card (yes, in our little town for some crazy reason our graduation is the third week in September!!) and I thought this would be the perfect chance to use some pages out of my book! 

I used the Hat's Off and Everyday banners stamp sets by Pink By Design as well as a star shape and a little grad person from the Silhouette store. The strip of text 'paper' was cut from the kids book and inked with squeezed lemonade Distress Ink. I used some twine for a little added detail. The blue background was stamped with the Quatrefoil background stamp also from Pink By Design. 

I used some pop dots to add some dimension and make my happy little grad stand out.

More Christmas Tags!

Hi friends! A couple days ago I posted some Christmas tags I made using the print/cut feature... I had so much fun making them that I made some more! :) I think I am addicted to making them! I have even one more set in the works!! 

For this set of tags, I used some graphics from MyGrafico along with a combination of sentiments from the Winter Wishes stamp set from Scrappy Moms (adorable set!!!!!) and the ever popular Old Time Christmas. 

I wish I would have made a tutorial video showing how I made these... Someday I will learn!! Actually, I think what I need is a bigger tripod. I just can't seem to make my small one work in the way I want to set it up. 

I added some glossy accents and sparkles to add some dimension to the graphics. Of course I had to add a cute little Peachy Keen face too!! :) 

I really wanted to use twine for the strings but I don't have any that matched!! I have some on the way from Trendy Twine but it hasn't showed up quite yet. 

I tried to take this pic to show how much detail the glossy accents adds to the graphics. I will definitely need to be buying a new bottle of this wonderful stuff soon!! 

The Old Time Christmas stamp set also has the 'To:' and 'From:' stamps in it.

Great Grandmas Layout

Hi crafty friends!! Hope you're all enjoying your holiday weekend!! We're not doing much... Actually, yesterday the girls and I spent a lot of time in my craft room! You can imagine what it looked like post crafting between a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and of course myself... Not pretty! :) 

I really wanted to come up with a project for the first challenge over at 3 Girl Jam. The theme this week is butterflies and bows. I'm still trying to get caught up on layouts before the new baby comes... I don't think it's going to happen!!! I think I may need to keep weeding out photos. :(

These pictures have been in my 'to scrap' pile for a while and when I picked up the Today, Tomorrow, Forever stack (by Recollections) from Michaels, I knew it would be perfect for this layout. I have to say I think it's my favorite stack EVER. I have no doubt I will use every sheet in the stack, and maybe even have to buy a second!!  

I got to play with Spellbinders for the very first time yesterday! I have been eyeing them up for a while and when Ginger Snap Scraps had everything in their store on sale for 40% off, I jumped on a couple sets!! So in love with them because they are so convenient! Now I can give my Big Shot some exercise since it's been collecting dust since I bought it almost a year ago!

The bow shown above is made by using some 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon along with my 3 Girl Jam bowmaker. The sentiment came from the Pink By Design set Grandparents. I used the Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, which I also picked up cheap at Ginger Snap Scraps to do some inking. 

The title for the page was cut by my Cameo. I LOVE that I can cut almost anything so precisely!!! It's not 100% perfect, but soooooo much better than a Cricut could ever do!! I used some more 3 Girl Jam ribbon, along with some lace I picked up at a thrift store. The pewter heart is from Wal-Mart jewelry section and tied with some hemp. 

I used a saying from the All in the Family set from Pink By Design and stamped each line in the sentiment separately to make three individual banners. I inked them with the same Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and added a button with some hemp tied in it.

OK, time for my project!! :) Last Christmas my mom asked her to make some tags she could attach to her Christmas baking she made for an exchange with some other ladies. I thought this year I would get ahead of the game since my baby is due November 5th and I wasn't sure how much time I would have to complete projects closer to Christmas. 

My favorite thing to do right now is to use the print/cut feature on my cameo (as I've said about 100 times in my recent posts!!). I almost always blank out the faces on the graphics so I can add my own adorable Peachy Keen faces. I wish I could remember which face assortment set I used for this project... I'm a little tired (lazy?!! ;)) to go downstairs to check... 

I also always add some glossy accents, glitter, etc. to add some dimension to my print and cut embellishments. Otherwise, I find them a bit FLAT. 

I purchased these cute Christmas baking graphics from The Dollar Graphics Depot. LOVE these super cheap graphics, and soooo much selection! 

(Sorry, bad photography... :() I used a small circle punch to make holes in the corners and tied some raphia in there as a way to hang the tags from the baking.

I used random papers all from Christmas Recollections stacks that were out last year at Christmas time. I made three of each of the four different designs and put them into a little set of tags for my mom. Print and cut makes duplicating projects sooo quick and easy! 

I found the 'to:' and 'from:' on the Christmas Wishes stamp set from Pink By Design. Speaking of Pink By Design... This is my 150th post tagged with Pink by Design, which means I have approx 150 Pink By Design projects on my blog!!!! That's a lot of Pink By Design inspiration!!! :)
