Clearwater Beach Hybrid Layout

Hey everyone!! This is my second post of the day, so if you are looking my project for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon's DT Day, check out THIS post.

Have you seen the super new fun kit out at Peppermint Creative?! I love it!! It's called Boardwalk Heat, and has such a wicked unique beach feel to it.

I am in love with wood grained paper, so that's where I started with my layout...

I printed and cut out the seashells in various sizes and they made the perfect embellishments!!

I also used the some elements from the Sandcastle collection from Pretty Little Studio, which went perfectly with the Boardwalk Heat kit.

If you haven't noticed, I am SO addicted to sequins right now!! I love how they look randomly scattered around!

Here is what I used on my layout...
- Sandcastle Collection from Pretty Little Studio
- My Creative Time doily die, Type font stamps
- Pink By Design alphabet stamps
- Gold Shimmer twine from The Twinery

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Make sure you come back tomorrow for my Disney project and a new release from Trendy Twine!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons DT Day!!

It's Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons DT Day!!!!
Today's card is a card I made for my hubby for our anniversary! As soon as Lisa came out with the Stud Finder Cutting Files set, I knew I was going to make Cam (my hubby) a card with it! This past weekend we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary, which doesn't seem like that long, but we have accomplished a LOT in these past six years.... We got married, had three beautiful, healthy little girls, built our dream home on an acreage and purchased our second dream/vacation home!! We're very proud of where we have gotten to in only six years! :)

Anyways... Onto my card!! :)

I love making shape cards!! They're so fun and different! :) This card is super simple, but my hubby loved it! All I did was add some glossy accents to the buttons, some shading with some fluid chalk ink and some stitching/details with a white gelly roll pen.

Here is file set I used...

I love the different sentiments that come with this stud finder! Too fun!

Here are the supplies I used to make my card... (there aren't many! :))
- Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Stud Finder Cutting Files
- Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink
- Glossy Accents
- white gelly roll pen

Make sure you don't miss out on this month's challenge: Summer Fun!!

Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Summer Fun blog hop!! All of the DT members have amazing summery projects to share!! If you just stumbled upon this hop, head back to Lisa's blog - Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons

I take a TON of pictures of my girls in the summer so of course my project is a layout!

I used the Simple Banner Shapes to make my banner and added my popsicles using some foam stickers.

I used a single hole punch to take a 'bite' out of my pink popsicle by punching a few holes next to each other, then added some shading with fluid chalk ink.

Here are the supplies I used to make my layout...
- Echo Park Summer Days Collection
- PPPR Popsicle Fever and Simple Banners cutting files
- American Crafts ribbon
- sequins
- sewing machine
- Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink

Create A Customized Clothes Pin Display Tutorial!!

Custom clothespin make
Clothes Pin Display
By: Candace Zentner
I don’t know about you but I LOVE to display my creations for a while after I make them. Sometimes, I walk around the house with my latest project in my hand, just so that I can take a peek and marvel at it every few minutes. I found that I really needed a way to display my “artwork” in my craft room, so I came up with an idea using some very simple supplies and the Modern Mama kit from Peppermint Creative.
Hang art Display1
Here is what I used to create my project:
  • Peppermint Creative Modern Mama kit
  • Silhouette Software
  • Plain White Cardstock
  • Clothes Pins
  • Paperclips
  • 3M Command Hooks
  • Twine
  • Buttons
  • Ribbon
  • Adhesive
Hang art Display2
Here’s how to create your own clothespin display:
Step 1: Print out strips of pattern paper to cover the top of the clothes pin. I designed and cut strips using Silhouette software and the Silhouette machine, but they could also easily be cut using a simple paper cutter.
Step 2: Choose some elements to embellish your clothes pins. (I also cut these using Silhouette software/machine, but this could also be done by hand)

Step 3: Using adhesive (I used ATG tape), adhere the pattern strips to the tops of the clothes pins
Custom clothespin decorate 5
Step 4: Glue a paper clip to the back of each clothes pin using a stronger adhesive, like Zip Dry glue.
Custom clothespin decorate 6
Step 5: Decorate some of the clothes pins using elements from the Modern Mama kit, combined with buttons, ribbon, etc.
Custom clothespin decorate 7
Step 6: Place Command hooks by 3M (I use them because they are not permanent and can easily be removed from wall) onto your wall.
NOTE: My hooks are hidden under a shelf but if you would like to hide the white sticker under the hook, just trim some off.
Step 7: Measure the distance between two hooks with twine, then double it. String clothes pins onto twine through the paper clips.
Step 8: Hook end of the twine with the loop over one hook, then tie the other ends of the twine around the hook on the opposite end

Step 8: Make rosettes using a strip of pattern paper and adhere them to hooks to hide them
Hang art Display 10
Step 9: Add your projects onto your display line by clipping them in the clothes pins
Card Display Line2
This same display line can also be used to display photographs, children’s artwork, or anything else you would like to show off. Another idea is to use some of Miss Mint’s holiday themed kits to change up the clothes pins to match any upcoming holiday! Possibilities are endless!

How to Make Your Own Washi Tape (using Digital Paper)

How to make washi tape digital scrapbook
Make Your Own Washi Tape using your Fave Digital Scrapbook Papers
By: Candace Zentner
I am so in love with washi tape, but I have been recently shopping for tape and I’m getting a touch frustrated. I “need” a roll of tape that goes with every one of my projects, without buying 247 different rolls of washi.  I discovered a way to make my own washi tape from of any pattern I choose, using digital paper!! Jackpot!!
Here is what you need to make some of your own:
Make own washi tape PIC 1
Super simple supplies:
  • Plain white tissue paper (I get mine from the Dollarstore)
  • Two sided tape (whatever width you prefer)
  • One scrap piece of paper
  • Digital paper (I used digital paper from the Summer Sparkles kit on my card shown below)
  • Tape
  • Printer
Let’s get started:
1. Using whichever software works best for you (Silhouette Software, Photoshop, Word, etc.) create rectangles slightly wider than your two sided tape and fill them with the digital paper you choose. NOTE: All the patterns shown in the picture below are from Peppermint Creative.
Make own washi tape PIC 2
2. Cut a piece of tissue paper larger (about ¾” on each side) than scrap paper.
Make own washi tape PIC 3
3. Fold overlapping edges of tissue paper over scrap paper, and tape down.
Make own washi tape PIC 4
4. Make sure all tissue paper is taped down well, all the way around, to ensure the paper doesn’t get caught/jammed in your printer then send paper through printer.
Make own washi tape PIC 5
5. Carefully remove tissue paper from scrap paper
Make own washi tape PIC 6
6. Flip the printed tissue paper over (very important – don’t forget to do this!) and run a strip of two-sided tape along printed pattern strip, smooth front of tissue to avoid wrinkles. Do the same for all the strips of pattern.Make own washi tape PIC 7
7. Using scissors, cut around tape.
Make own washi tape PIC 8
8. To use the washi tape, just peel the second backing off tap and apply to project.

How cool is that? Peppermint Creative has some digital paper that makes amazing washi tape! I can’t wait to play with some of the chevron and polka dot papers. Oh! And the wood patterns… I hope you’re excited about this as I am!

I'm sure you are well aware by now, that today is the release day of the great new Bumblebee twine!!

So fun, right?! The Bumblebee twine is only $8 today only!! (After today, the spool is back to the regular price of $9). I love bumblebees so I was so excited to get started on my project...

I used my Bumblebee twine to add stripes to the body of my bee adding ATG tape on the backside of my body layer, then wrapping the twine around until it was completely covered. And of course I had to add a bow to turn my little bee into a girl... :)

And a blog hop just wouldn't be a blog hop without some great blog candy... Jaded Blossom (whom I am Guest Designing for in August!!!) has donated their great stamp set, Love Stings for one lucky winner!!

All you have to do to win this stamp set is make sure you are a follower of the Trendy Twine blog and leave a comment on each blog in this hop (by 11:59pm CST Friday). Pretty easy!!

PPPR Project Day!!

It's Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons DT Day!!!! I know you all love every second Wednesday!! :)

I have totally shocked myself with the amount that I am using Lisa's Superhero Files... Almost everything I do is always girly, so I never thought I would have much use for anything superhero. Turns out I was wrong!! I have been using these cute little guys like crazy!!

This cranky little guy comes from the Superhero H & I set, and I used a face stamp from the Everyday Face Assortment Peachy Keen stamp set. I also added a touch of chalk to Hulk's cheeks to make sure he looked really mad. I am loving white space on my cards lately, so the only other things I added were a sentiment and some arrows (stamp).

Here is a list of everything I used...
- Superhero H & I cutting files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons
- sentiment from the Pink By Design Attitude stamp set
- Arrow stamps from the It's All About You stamp set from My Creative Time
- Everyday Character Face Assortment stamps from Peachy Keen
- Colorbox fluid chalk ink
- white gelly roll pen

Just another reminder as well... Lisa is now having monthly challenges over at the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog!! The theme for the month is 'Get Well' and if you don't have any files that would work for this theme, check out the current freebie at the store:

The prize is a $10 gift certificate to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store!! How awesome?! Link up your projects HERE!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to come back tomorrow for a fun announcement as well as a Trendy Twine blog hop!!! :)
